Institute of Food Science and Technology of Ireland
The Institute of Food Science and Technology Ireland was established:
- To promote, advance and further the knowledge, development and application of
science and technology to every aspect of food
- To further the education and training of, to act as the professional body of and
to promote the professional standing efficiency and usefulness of Food
Scientists and Technologists
- To promote honorable practice, to repress malpractice, and to settle disputed
points of practice, and to decide all questions of professional usage and
etiquette.
- To represent the profession of Food Science and Technology in Ireland and
promote its interests.
- To petition the Government in the interests of the profession of Food Science
and Technology in Ireland.
- To organize social and other such functions as may promote the

Institute of Food Science and Technology of Ireland
Food Science and Technology Trust of Ireland
The Food Science and Technology Trust of Ireland was established to promote,
advance, and further the knowledge, development, and application of science and
technology to every aspect of food and to further the education and training of
Food Scientists and Technologists in Ireland. It is a charitable body and
disseminates funds to support its purpose. Whilst separate, the Trust is linked
into the work of the Institute of Food Science and Technology Ireland and the
trustees also serve on Council of the IFSTI.
